What is difference between a dental hygienist with a bachelors to one with an associates degree?
Asked by Jessica G
I'm interested in pursuing a career in dental hygiene but am unsure whether to go for an associates degree as opposed to a bachelors... Is there a difference in income? And how does the job description vary?

A:
Best Answer:
RDH A.S. and RDH B.S. Otherwise not much. The pay is the same and so are the job duties. If you go to a community college and get the associates degree and you graduate with about 130 credit hours and an A.S. or A.A.S. If you go to a university you graduate with about 130 credit hours and a B.S. Getting your B.S. means you can teach at an community college, work as a sales rep for some dental distributors, write for a magazine....not much else. Clinical hygiene pays the most, but the job or pay doesn't change with the degree, even if you had a masters - you clinical hygiene job or pay doesn't change.
