Is there an appropriate type of paper to print a resume on?
Asked by Shaula359
I have a laser printer and need to create and print a new resume. What type of paper is appropriate? White or Ivory? Obviously one does not want to use plain old cheap white typing paper. Is there a particular paper recommended?

Hmmm. I'm going to disagree with the rest of your answers. Let's say your resume ends up in a stack with the 500 the employer received online, which they printed out on their flimsy, white photocopier/laser paper. And there is yours, somewhere in that stack, on a nice, slightly heavier paper, with a hint of ivory or grey tint to it. Which one will stand out? The game is to distinguish yoursself, in positive ways. Ever detail helps! Look for linen, ivory or very light grey paper. Good luck!

White and of good quality would be best in my experience.

I would use a higher quality white bond paper. I would stay away from colored papers altogether. Many companies scan resumes into data bases for future reference. Colored paper does not always scan very well.

They actually sell such a thing call resume paper. they're a bit thicker and I believe it's also said that some are made from egyptian cotton. But they're a bit pricy though. about $8 for around 20 sheets.
