Asked by Jessica F
I am a 23 year old college student who will be a certified teacher in May. I am babysitting overnight just two nights a week for a nurse with 4 children. Ages 8, 4, 2 and 9 mo. What should I charge? Please help!

You can either charge an hourly rate or a flat rate. For an hourly rate, I would charge 12 dollars per hour, or a flat rate of 80 dollars.

I used to do three dollars per kid/hour. Other places I would do five/two kids/hour. In this case, I would probably ask for 10-15 dollars, depending on the financal situation of the nurse.

Ask the Nurse how much she can afford to pay - how much she had in mind. If it is reasonable - go for it.
Maybe she can be a good friend to you.
