I believe CVS bases pay depending on experience, education, etc. I worked for a new store 5 yrs ago & was paid $12 per hr as a photo lab tech (they trained me). There were others that were younger & did not have much job experience so they received less per hr. I remember one gal that had a lot of experience as a cashier who received slightly more than $12, but she was eventually fired for giving stuff away...there are cameras on the registers so it really isn't worth the consequences. I know absolutely nothing about Walgreen's. What I do know about working for places like these is that theft is very common, from employees & customers...be careful. It's not worth the risk trying to stop these shoplifters in action either...some of them are armed (didn't know until mgr showed me surveillance tape afterwards).
Experience...

Usually minimum, whatever it may be your area. Definitely based on experirnce. I don't recommend it, but maybe LIE about previously pay at previous jobs. The manager will most likely match it.... The reason I say that is because once the manager puts you in for a hourly rate, it's nearly impossible to change it unless you get promoted or learn photo. The biggest complaint from employees are raises... it's a very small percentage only 4% of your pay. (This year because of the economy, there making it only maximum 2% raise.) If you making $7/hr, the normal 4% raise amounts to only 28 cents. If you get 8.50, its more. Plus if you ask for more, they may meet you in the middle.
