I assist mr. x ,, I am assisting Mr . X , or I have been assisting Mr. X ,, Which one is more correct as gramatically ?

You and Mr.X are individuals and there is no personal relationship between you two. (You may assist your brother Mr.Y in personal capacity).Your relationship is official. In this case , it will be stated as follows:- I, as an Assistant have been assisting the manager Mr . X . "have been assisting" is present continuous tense and grammatically correct.

How about " I am an assistant to Mr. X". We call them "confidential secretaries" in our company.
