How can I call a company to ask them to take me on for a entry level plumber/plumbermate position?

I am finishing my course City and Guild in plumbing and I want to call a few companies to see if they will take me on as a plumber mate, but I don't have a clue how. Please help!

If you are still in school , most schools have placement help..The next best thing would be to contact the plumbers union as your other answerer suggested..Breaking into the plumbing business is not easy..

Just call and ask if they were looking for someone. It'll look more professional if you do it in person, though.

Call the plumbers union and see if any companies are hiring or if they have an apprentice ship program.
