If you would like to work as a Legal Secretary then you will need secretarial skills and a knowledge of law and legal procedures.
These skills are easy to gain and there are training companies offering good courses such as the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs. Their Legal Secretaries Diploma course is recognised and good value for money.
The legal profession is seen as one of the safer professions to be involved with at the moment as our legal system is important to society. We will always need lawyers and legal secretaries to help them with their work.

Warning: Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!!! This is NOT a good field to invest in!! Many reasons. Main reason?....We simply have WAY TOO MANY Legal Professionals - we have a GLUT. ("Legal Professionals" includes, but is not limited to: Lawyers/Attorneys, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Court Reporters, Bailiffs, etc, etc)
You need to go to some type of school to become a legal or medical secretary. But stay away from law.
The law schools continue to churn out graduates even though they know the economy is SATURATED. Law students are easy money for law schools because they have to make very little investment in them.
Suggestion: Consider and look into the field of HEALTHCARE! <<LOTS of jobs there! and scholarships!
Good luck.
