Difference between a Physical therapy technician and aide?
Asked by mike_cscs
I applied for a job as a Physical therapy technition and the job only metioned you need a background in exercise. I have a 4 year degree in Exercise Physiology and 1 year personal training experience. Any ideas what the difference is between a technition and aide or does it sound like the same type of job? Wow the first 2 answers are awesome!!! I hope I get more that are just as informative.

Its the same job. Your responsibilities will vary based on what state you live. In my state, techs/aides are very limited on what they can do. We mostly use our for clerical and housekeeping type tasks. Sometimes, we can allow them to supervise an exercise if we have "line of sight" supervision. It doesn't pay very much, but is good experience if you want to become a PT.
