What is the legal maximum number of hours you can work in a week?
Asked by drummerboy
I currently work monday through to saturday, 9-5, with a friday off. I'm interested in applying for a night job, monday-wednesday 11pm-7am, and sunday 7am-3pm. Would it be legal to work both of these jobs at the same time? I know its probably not very healthy working that much, but It would only be for a few months so I could save up enough money for a place of my own.

Unless you're a minor, there is no legal maximum number of hours a week you can work. I've known people who had 2 full time jobs, and it worked. Good Luck.

A:
By law, the maximum amount of hours you can work in each job is 40 hours per week. After that, it is considered overtime. But you can work 40 hours in your day job and 40 (if you survive) in your night job.

If you are an adult, legally you can work as many hours and as many jobs as you want.
