Specifically, what is the difference between a physician assistant and a medical assistant?

I'm kind of confused with the roles/responsibilities perform by a physician assistant and a medical assistant. And what does it means by 'clinical' and 'non-clinical'?

education and capabilities. Think of a PA as a junior doc, and a med assist as a junior nurse. PAs can prescribe in some states; med assists do vital signs, get patients situated. PA is the better job, but isn't entry-level.
