Ang
would it be easy for a registered nurse to become a dental hygienist?
Asked by Ang
Anyone know if a registered nurse would be able to use her credits towards a dental hygienist program so she wouldn't have to go as long as someone who didn't have a degree? I wish people would stop posting comments about SMC.

Why would you want to do that? RN's make alot more than hygienists. gc

it's possible...but every school is different...I took many education classes at one university and they didn't even count toward my Bacc in Education when I transferred to another.

That's really hard to say. Depends on what states you are looking & there are many medical programs that actually do not look at your credits in a different profession. Seems like they usually want you to start from scratch. It is also a must to have retaken your anatomy & physiology & some other sciences(depending on the job) every 5 years. They want it to be fresh on your mind when you get your job. I barely made it cus when I got in my medical program you only had to renew your sciences every 10 yrs. Though I am having to break open my old A & P books again. I wish you the best of Luck!
