What would I have to do to become a registered nurse?
Asked by Jenn W
I'm a sophomore in high school, and becoming a registered nurse is what I want to do with my life. There is a program for juniors and seniors at JVS to do with nursing & it gives early experience and everything out there. So instead of just sitting in a classroom and stuff all day, I can go to JVS take the classes I need to graduate and plus classes for nursing and such. Is this a good idea? And what do I do about college? Please and thanks in advance

IM in a program like the one you are talking about IM in 11TH grade and i love this class it definitely gives you an idea of what you wont to do in the health Field i have Friends that decided they hate geriatric care and others that love it (we went to the nursing home 2twice a week for 2 months ) and some that love the hospital that we are at now doing emergency room and same day surgery and all that fun stuff it gives you an idea if you really wont to be a nurse or not.

If you aspire to become an RN, and there is a program that will help you prepare for that, then you should take advantage of that opportunity. As far as college is concerned, you can bridge on over to an RN Nursing School and be several steps ahead in the process of becoming a nurse. The nursing programs available in high school lay the foundation for you and help you learn the fundamentals of nursing. So, if you are sure you want to pursue nursing, take advantage of this and every opportunity you can while you can and while you are young. You will never regret becoming a nurse or what you can accomplish. GO FOR IT!!! The BEST to YOU!!!
