unless it is a large hotel most do not have just receptionist. they have front desk people.. most want you do be 18 or over, unless you have a lot of experience, then they might be ok with you being younger..
The smaller the hotel, the less experience you might need. the larger the hotel, the more.. a lot of customer service, retail work, working with the public and being comfortable with a computer..

Usually hotels do require at least 2 years experience and or a degree. You have to have good communication skills and knowledge of computers. Most hotels have different reservation programs for the desks. Experience filing and answering phones is also good.

Usually they expect that you have several of years of experience, since you're dealing with people that may have language barriers, and other related problems, and you have to be able to handle anyone and everyone.

Front Desk at a hotel is not like being a receptionist at a business.
It's more complex, and is considered a position by most places that you need a dipolma for the position.
Another option if you have one but still want to work in the hotel--is to ask about a housekeeper job Or wait staff or kitchen staff. you have to be 16+ in most places of the world to get a beginner job and those are positions that are considered beginner jobs.
If it's receptionist that you're after--start with companies that have receptionists now such as & including:
Churches; insurance companies, doctor's offices, dentist offices (but keep in mind that anything medical may require a medical/dental terminology course); law firms, engineering firms etc.
Another option would be to apply to an employment agency and have them place you in an appropriate position.

They don't have receptionists, they have desk agents. and you can work part time at 16 I believe. Good customer service skills are a must and just be familiar with computers. They will teach you the program.
