It really depends on how much you're willing to do, how hard you're willing to work, and who you choose to work for.
An interior decorator is kind of a broad reaching job description, ranging from everyday lackey painter, working for someone else, wielding a paint roller, to a self employed interior designer to the stars bidding for major contracts and earning millions each year.
Realistically, however, you're probably looking at a few possibilities.
First of all, you're looking at working for someone else, as a simple laborer, and aren't going to get yourself much more than minimum wage, probably around about £2 to £3 ($3-5) more per hour than minimum wage. It's not an ideal situation, but will work well if you need to get yourself some experience, and a guaranteed wage per week.
You could work part time, or full time, and you'll get a little over minimum wage per month.
The next option would be as a self employed "General painter/decorator" working on your own. You'll need to have some experience, and you'll be building your own reputation. In some parts of the world, you may need or want to be qualified, or registered with some guild, union or other professional body.
You can earn yourself between £150-300 (probably about $220-500) per job (taking about a couple of days, more if it takes longer), if you're supplying the materials, less if your client is. Either way, you'll look at pocketing somewhere in the region of £50 ($70) per 1-2 day job.
You stand to earn more per month than working for a company, but only once you've established yourself, found suppliers and got all the materials you need, but it's going to take a lot of ground work and up front costs. Plus it's going to be hard work getting yourself noticed. And, sadly, You'll never have guaranteed income this way.
The final option, if you are well qualified and experience, would be to get together with some similarly experienced people, and start a small interior decorating business. It'd mean you could take on more, and bigger jobs, bid for contracts with local builders and businesses, and work with, or employ other exterior and interior designers and offer a full end to end service.
It's going to take lots more ground work, and even more costs, plus you'll be sharing profits with other people, but if you can work hard at it, this method could well make you quite rich.
Either way though. It'll depend on how much experience you have, and how much work you're willing to put in.
