Is anyone a veterinary technician on this website?

I am wanting to begin college to get an associates degree in veterinary technology. I love animals and i want to help them but I don't know how great I'd be at seeing dead animals or euthanizing them. Is it a pretty gruesome job? Is it rewarding? What all does your job entail?

Post this in Pets. There are lots of vet techs there that respond and will see your question. My sister studied to be a vet tech. She dropped out though. She thought it was a bit gruesome, but still very rewarding. However, the pay was very low and she just didn't see how she'd make it on the salaries offered in the Philadelphia, PA area.

at first its hard to be around it, most vet offices will give you time to get used to it. i was the same way, its still sad but every one understands.
