Would working at Hooters effect future career choices, such as teaching public school?

I'm 18 and I'm considering working at Hooters. Would doing so effect my future employment if I decide to be a school teacher or run for public office later? I've heard about school teachers being fired for having worked as a stripper...

It could. Jobs with background checks (those working with children or those working for the government) are pretty strict about your past work. However, you're working as a waitress, not as a stripper. There's kind of a difference. Yeah, it's Hooters, but it should be OK.

Stripping is NOTHING to be proud of hon.It teaches the men who pay to see you that women really ARE sub human things to be used as sex toys and nothing more.What YOU do REINFORCES this view of women by men.The decent men will look at you as if you are nothing more than a common street whore(not trying to be mean,just telling you how it is).
The other guys will either want to just "bang you" or they will want to "rescue you" from that life.
If the board of education knows about your past as a stripper, depending on whether or not they have any moral values, they may or may not hire you.
I mean who would you rather have teaching your hormonal daughter?A stripper?Or someone who busted their butt because they had moral standards and worked hard to get through school, as opposed to reinforcing the message to your hormonal teen aged daughter"if you want the guys to want you, you have to get naked first!"
Or have them teaching your hormonal teen aged son sending them the message:
"Girls are eye candy and sex toys,I am proof of that and I defend that lifestyle of stripping".?

It won't look great on your CV, it depends ho long you wanna work there. I don't think you should though, especially at 18.

No it will not affect your chances of other employment. The Hooters Girls are waitresses, and nothing else. Hooters is a major chain in the food industry. Even looking into the future as a public official, you will have worked there to put yourself through college. Go and work there, and have fun. You will make a lot of money.
