How do I become a management trainee?
Asked by kvndrby
I have just graduated with a B.A. in Communications and I'd like to get a management trainee position at a retail store. I have no retail experience and most my work experience has been seasonal and/or temporary. I'm curious if retail stores try to pull management trainees from within exclusively and if my lack of retail experience is going to disqualify me right off the bat. I'd like to hear from retail managers and hiring managers if at all possible.

Try applying at CVS, Walgreens, Sears where you only need a bachelor's degree to become a manager. Try posting your resume on as many career sites like Monster, Career Builder, Yahoo Hotjobs and list what type of position you are looking for; there are a lot of employers on these sites and some will call or e-mail you if they are interested in setting up an interview with you. Try also searching management trainee positions on Google. Hope this helps with your job search!
I have a Bachelor's in Management and I do know for a fact at those retail stores you need a Bachelor's degree.
