How should I go about quiting a job where I am the only assistant (who runs the office operations)?
Asked by KendraRae
I am the only person there every day. The agents are in and out. I don't want to leave them lost, but don't want to stay until they find someone else either.

Two weeks notice. That's customary and polite.

I am sure you are not the first assistant they have had leave! If you are putting in your notice, put it in. It is up to the boss/supervisor to figure out a plan until they can find a replacement for you. If they are in a pickle, they can always bring in someone from a temp agency.
Don't worry about it :]
If they try to guilt-trip you into staying past your notice until they find a replacement, refuse. You should not have to stay past your notice for ANY reason.
