What questions should I expect for my interview for a camp counselor?
Asked by southernsweetie
I have an interview tomorrow for a camp counselor position and I am SOO nervous! What should I expect? What questions? I was told there would be situational questions but can someone give me exact questions I should be prepared to answer? I think it will help me be less nervous if I have an idea before hand. I really need this job.
Thanks!

hey, Good luck!
Situational interviews are based on phrasing like:
tell me about a time when...
and then followed up with
...you had to resolve conflict
...you were under a lot of stress
...you had to meet a tight deadline and things kept exploding in your face
You will more than likely also be asked what your experience is with kids, why you want to work there, why you are the best person for the job.
Hope that helps!

Prepare for situational or behavioral interview questions that explore the following abilities:
communciation skills
problem-solving
empathy
initiative
judgment
decision-making
team-work
Prepare examples that demonstrate these skills - for example, think of a time when you had to use your initiative to solve a problem or a situation when you had to take a decision quickly.
