I'm taking a test tomorrow for a job and I really need help!?
Asked by Tata
I applied to be a police dispatcher and I think it would be a really awesome job. I'm rather nervous about the testing though because I'm not exactly sure what they are going to make me do. Any help would be amazing, I just don't want to walk in there and like totally suck at the testing and be really nervous. Thank you, in advance.

I'm not a dispatcher but my friend works for 911. They're not going to expect you to know all the cop lingo and technical stuff right up front. You just learn that over time and they know it. What they'll want to see is how you deal with people in general and, more importantly, how you deal with people in crisis. Are you cool headed? Are you coherent? Are you able to make quick judgments with limited information? I can see them doing a role play with an interviewer. Just stay calm and realize that you're being tested on your personality more than your knowledge. Good luck.
