Good part-time jobs (10 hrs)?
Asked by Blue987
I am looking for some ideas on good part-time jobs for the summer. Here's the scoop: I'm a graduate student, background in psychology. I will be working at my University for 30 hours a week (that's all they offered), but I would like to work as much as possible and I am looking for an extra 10 hours a week or so.
What are some things I could do?
-In the past I've worked as a home care aid for elderly. It was only a few hours a week. Pay wasn't great, but they were flexible and I liked the man I took care of.
-Waitressing - I was a waitress full time (it was okay) but tried it part-time one day a week and it was awful. I couldn't get the hang of the place, get to know everyone, and keep up when I only worked one day a week. I felt like everyday was my first day. I was miserable.
Any other part-time, summer ideas for a grad-student? I would prefer something that wasn't minimum wage... (but in today's economy...)
I have experience with children, elderly, and clerical work.
Thanks for your ideas.

See if there is a page position at your local library. That is what I did through high school & college as well. It is an unstressful part time job, very quiet, very simple.

Could you get a student job at your university? My university won't allow students to work over 20 hrs a week anyway, unless it's summer.

I also go to school full time and have three kids, so I know what your going thru! To make extra money during the few hours I have available, I use online work. I use a site that lists all the part-time jobs for free, unlike tons of others that want you to pay something. Just make sure you dont PAY for a job. A real job PAYS you. Anyway, good luck!

If you would like to work from home. Look into GDI. I work full time and do GDI from home. It is a great business opportunity that can help with extra $ and once you are out of school. You can use it to pay off your degree or whatever you want. Check out this site if you like. www.jrossdreambig.ws
