How do I switch from working part-time to full-time, at the same job?
Asked by heartachoke
If I have a part-time job & want to start working full-time at the same job, how far in advance from the date that I want to start working full-time should I talk to the manager about it? Also, what do I say to the manager when I ask to do this? I'm 18 and I've never worked full-time before, by the way.

You probably just have to talk to your manager. Let them know that you're available for more hours and ask if its possible. If it is you might even get benefits out of it.

maybe you could tell your boss you would like to talk to her/him when they get a chance. ask if they have a full-time position available and tell them you are interested in taking the hours. if you are full-time you will qualify for benefits. you should get paid more if they are not going to offer you benefits (life insurance, health insurance, 401K etc) depending on how large the company is. good luck
