Would my job be considered blue collar?
Asked by Chad_1_1
I am a CNC machinist/tool and die maker and I make around 95,000 a year. Would I be considered a blue collar worker even though I make more money than some managers and office workers? I get benefits that are better than a lot of white collar workers benefits at other companies.

White collar jobs are typically jobs that do not require any physical exertion, hence "white collar". When you sweat it would cause the collar to change color, and that is where the job types typically come from. So, pretty much anything that is not sitting behind a desk. But really it doesnt matter since you are making a good living and have good benefits. Now-a-days not even "white collar" workers are able to say they have as good working conditions, so congrats and soak it up!
