matia782000
why can't i get a simple job?
Asked by matia782000
I am just trying to get a simple parttime job. Lastyear, I tried applying for a seasonal position in retail. I applied at atleast 10 places by foot and more than that on line. I did not get one phone call. Once again times are tough and I need a second job, but can't seem to get one. I don't get it. I have good work ethics, a degree, and the ability to hold a job for several years. I have offered to work nights and weekeneds for anything! I will do anything from janitorial work, to retail. I can't even get a job at jack in the box. I have been trying for months and no one will hire me. Why? I had no problem getting jobs like that when I was a kid. What is wrong with me?

Try applying in cities. Larger cities have more opportunities. I am at the moment looking to relocate to another part of my state to go to school. I am also studying 13 languages in my spare time. Also make actual goals . I myself made the goal to find a job and then build from what free time I have. I plan to work a job during the day and one overnight. Also consider if the places you are applying for consider you overqualified. Managers tend to feel you will not stay as it may not be challenging enough for you. On average it costs an employer 2000USD to train a person. to them if you leave within a year it is a poor investment.
