Ben
Should I provide a recruiter my current supervisors number if he requested it?
Asked by Ben
I am looking for another job and I have gotten calls from a lot of job placement agencies over the past few weeks. One recruiter asked that I give him my current supervisor's phone number so that he can contact him about filling future IT positions with in the company. This sounds funny, How should I reply?

Unless you know for a fact your moving on then I would suggest you DON'T do this because you could be canned. Simply explain, I'm not comfortable in giving you this information and leave it at that. If he presses you for it. Repeat the same sentence and say end of discussion.
