What's the best hvac related career to get into?
Asked by Verden
I've heard people saying Hvac DDC or something is the best paying, but I can't find any careers on that.

DDC stands for direct digital controls. there is not really a tech school course you can sign up for to learn this. Most people who work with these controls start out as hvac technicians and installers. For example you need to know the in's and out's of how different hvac systems work before you can set up control equipment to run these systems. The schooling that is available for these types of controls are usually provided by the manufactures of the numerous control systems, you should try getting a job with an hvac or controls contractor first. But like many technical / trade jobs you have to start at the bottom and work your way up before making the "big bucks". Hvac technicians who specialize in controls are some of the highest paid people in the industry.
I have 12+ yrs. as an Hvac and controls tech.
