(uk)Do I qualify for a maintenance loan when taking an Adult Nursing Diploma that offers a bursary?

I am hopefully about to start an Adult Nursing Diploma that offers a bursary, and will be living away from home with a relative of mine.. however, I will be totally self sufficient so was wondering if i qualify for a maintenance loan of some kind despite the fact i will already be receiving the course bursary. any good website or experience appreciated :)

hello hun, im a degree nursing student also receiving an NHS funded bursary! Im receiving £280 a month! and im also getting £560 a term (maintenence loan) Sounds alot but i drive 40miles to uni and then a further 40miles to go home! So I spend average £150-160 a month on petrol and then ive got insurance and a phone bill to pay for! So im always poor! But im sure diploma student get more bursary than degree students... Just apply to studentfinance and see what happens! Good luck wit your training

not if you're recieving the bursary, however you can get a grant to help with travel, books etc. always a good idea to check with your uni though it's different for each uni. good luck with your course!

Go chat to your Jobcentre. I know someone who did and got loads of help that they did not know was available. I think that CAB would be just as helpful but I don`t know anyone who has tried it.
