Can you open a non-profit which does nothing, but only distributes religious brochures?

I want to open a non-profit organization who's sole purpose is to distribute flyers to local churches about my religion Is this legal, or does a non=profit have to do more than this?

just go door to door annoying people with your brochures. if it's non profit, you won't have any sponsors or churches to work out of.
