How do I become a Translator?
Asked by Sophia
I am in High School and considering becoming a translator. English is my native language, but I learned Spanish at a young age and speak it very well. I went to a dual-language school in elementary and middle school, and continue to take Spanish now. What would be my steps to become a translator? What degrees would I have to acquire in college, and what kind of work would I be doing?

Lots of info on what you need to do here. First step is becoming an ATA member (American Translator's Association): http://ezinearticles.com/?Interested-in-Becoming-a-Certified-Spanish-Translator?&id=236661

ask the guidance counselor at school - look in college catalogs to see which ones have any kind of program like that - google it
