you have a good chance at any college that offers a nursing degree, whether ASN or BSN. my advice, go to the college that is cheaper and more convenient for you. in the end, if you work as a nurse, you will be working with others that graduated from other community colleges, Ivy league schools and other universities. pretty much all will have the same pay except the BSNs might get a buck or cents more. since you're still a sophomore in high school, i say screw the academy classes and head straight for the AP courses. academy classes dont give you college credit and wont help you getting those nursing prerequisites out of the way. AP exams that you need to pass are: psychology chemistry US history government english statistics foreign language support classes can come from your academy classes like biomedical studies and anatomy/physiology or sociology even though they dont give you college credit or test you out of freshman classes in college. also working in CA as a nurse is good. CA needs more nurses and the pay is great since the standard of living is great.
nursing student graduated high school last year, c/o '08! took AP courses that helped me get out of some nursing prereqs and other college credit. have parents as RN/LVNs in CA working. currently a community college student working for a BSN.
