Is it illegal for a neighbor to have small spy cameras installed on their roof aimed towards my home?

We bought our new place in October & I just noticed the cameras now so I don't know if they were installed before we moved here or not.I don't have anything to hide but I do like my privacy & with the world today you just never know what kind of people you are dealing with..I have two toddler nieces that run around my yard & I do not want them filmed nor do I my privacy in my home to be compromised.

sorry but hey are not illegal unless you can prove they are recording inside your house

You have a right to privacy inside your home, as well as any intentionally secluded area (such as a walled in back yard.) If the cameras are pointed toward your window specifically, I'd have police check out your neighbors to make sure they aren't intentionally trying to film you. Other than that, your only option would be to keep the curtains on that side of the house closed.

if those cameras are pointed at your house they are illegal, and it is an invasion of privacy. You could ask them politely to point them else where or have the courts take care of the problem.

Is this the UK we are talking about? It is generally held to be against the law, to have CCTV cameras trained on anyone's property but your own. And even then, you are supposed to display "CCTV" notices.
