What jobs are available for business management majors with a minor in marketing?
Asked by L.
I was just wondering. I am a business management major and I haven't chosen a minor yet, but I'm thinking about marketing or psychology (now I'm leaning more toward marketing). Also, is this a good major/minor combo?

Business management and marketing go together like milk and cookies. It's an excellent combination. With that kind of degree you will just about be able to name your company and salary when you're ready to enter the job market.

Hello,
IMHO (I majored in marketing and management, graduated in '77), pursue the prospects now offered graduating seniors at the campus spring job fairs to see if you are interested in managing and marketing corporate-sized (i.e. millions and millions of $$$) projects, to learn the requirements, and if so apply yourself to that end. Look for and be prepared for upcoming trends or future downturns in industry, like Golf Clubs, Housing & Real Estate, Manufacturing, Shopping Centers, to name a few. If you are not interested in competing with C+ law school students, MBA's, and seasoned professionals for these positions, then be open minded to state and local business wanting to groom intelligent people for long-term advancement, and failing that, create your own business and franchise it.
I believe your minor studies should be something you are genuinely interested in, be it Arts, Humanities, Science, Math, or a technical vocation. 3.X GPA will be your better objective and don't forget your volunteer or social group efforts.
