What is the difference between a part-time and a full-time job?
Asked by Kate M
aside from the hours, in a part-time job can you quit anytime? how about the full-time? what are the contracts?

Best Answer:
The benefits may be MUCH different, for example, a full time job might give paid vacation time, opposed to a part time job that might not. Every place is different but most full time jobs have benefits such as that, and medical, vision, dental, etc.

Part time jobs usually you get less benefits. It's not good to quit any job anytime.. you should always give notice.

There are no contracts...you can quit whichever one you want..the only difference in those two is the hours...and benefits..which is more likely to be recieved only when your a full-time employee

Whether it be full or part time you should always give your 2 weeks notice or it will make u look bad because then the employer has to find someone on the spot which is very improbable. At least when you give a 2 week notice if the person you were applying to were to call up the place you previously worked at they would be able to tell them that you didnt just stop coming to work.

Unless you are sighning a contract, there is no absolute time frame about quitting, but common courtosy is 2 weeks. Aside from the hours, the main differences are pay ( part time sometimes pays more) and benifits. An employer who offers medical coverage for full time(40 hrs a week) will not offer it to anyone schedueled for less than 40, wether they actually work more or not

For a part-time job you usually work less than 40 hours per week kind of thing for only a few days a week. You usually don't get benefits. Full-time jobs are usually 40+ hours a week and may or may not include benefits. For any job technically you can quit cold turkey anytime but it's not good to do so. The standard procedure for any part-time or full-time job is to give two weeks notice when you want to quit. If you quit cold turkey they may give you a bad reference so if you quit without giving two weeks notice unles you get permission from your boss I wouldn't bother mentioning it on your resume and references.

The difference is that a part-time job will give you money but you will be limited and a full time job will give you money but allows you to do anything. if you want to change this concept can make money without being full-time or part time, only time you can do and give what you need and more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_h6FKDef2k http://www.infinitymoney.net/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_h6FKDef2k

Part time gives your less benifits but more time for yourself and much less burden on you.
