Want to get more experience as a medical receptionist?
Asked by Rachel~Rene
I am currently a bank teller. I have tons of experience in clerical, bookkeeping etc but the medical field is what I want to get into. I know they usually require experience, but I don't exactly know how to go about it. Any suggestions as where to start out at?

You can take correspondence courses specifically to be a medical receptionist. But just be sure that whatever institution you choose is accredited and your certificate will be recognized. You also may want to check with your local community college and see if they offer the courses online or on campus. But with the correspondence courses, be careful with institutions like Virginia Tech because a great number of employers still don't recognize certificates or diplomas from "online colleges". But if it is a trusted University (i.e. Florida State) then those degrees are more likely to be recognized (even if it was done online). I know this because I checked THOROUGHLY into this a while back when I was looking into finishing my degree.
