you can retire as anything you want, you must be old enough to retire and I think the age is now 70 1/2. hope you have a good IRA and savings to live on. there are many different tools on the internet that can tell you how much you need to save each month to achieve your goals. good luck!

Question would be where you work; if you work for state, federal, county, city yes. Private employment would have to be 401 or IRA. Takes some savings.
