Career Questions and Answers

Is it possible to be a Traffic Engineer as a recent grad?
Asked by Jenn
I recently graduated with a Civil Engineering degree and I would really like to begin a career as a Traffic Engineer. I have about a year of experience in the field from an internship, but I have not been seeing a lot of job postings for an entry-level Traffic Engineer. Is it possible to be a Traffic Engineer right out of college? If not, any suggestions on how to begin accumulating some experience to help me reach my goal would be appreciated! Thanks!

Best Answer:
I had a roomate that did that...started with TxDOT designing traffic signals.

The listings I have seen for CA state and cities all require experience, but it wouldn't hurt to look at your state and local cities for their job websites
