Is it illegal to work 8 hours without a break in FL?
Asked by Alex
I worked at a conviniece store in PSL, FL and they would make you work 8 hours with no lunch break. The only way to get a break is to sneak outside to smoke a cigarrete. Is it illegal?

Best Answer:
It depends on if you are a miner or not. I'm assuming you are over 18, While some states have laws requiring employers to provide lunch breaks and other breaks to employees, Florida has no laws requiring employers to give employees any breaks at all for employees 18 and older. If you are under 18: Florida law requires that minors under age 18 must be given an uninterrupted meal or rest period of at least 30 minutes for each four hours they have continuously worked. In this case if you were under 18, you could sue your employer.

A:
Unfortunately there are no laws in Florida that require a break to be given for a work period unless you are a minor.
