What sorts of things should a cover letter address for an administrative job at an auction house?
Asked by BergdorfBAP
I am applying for an administrative position at Christie's and I really need to land this position. I have one year of museum experience (department of contemporary art) and I am working on my MA in art history. What sorts of things will it be important for me to convey in the cover letter and resume? What can I say to put myself above the rest?

Best Answer:
A cover letter should have three paragraphs: 1)express you interest in the position, 2)your general background, and 3)your availability for an interview.

A:
You need to show knowledge of the place you are applying, A quick highlight of your relevant work and studies, and your eagerness for the position.

If you wish to work in Christie's do not use Americanisms, a "resume" is CV (ciricula vitie) !! Don't over push your qualifications, even though important, they will recognise them, they want to know you, the person you are. Explain in two paragraphs who you are and what you want, then in one paragraph, tell them what you want from working for them. Then say something nice and humorous to end, just to get thier attention to your application, Hope you succeed, I wish you all the best and hope i helped a little x
