How to follow up on my application at Target?

Hi, I recently applied at Target for a Sales Associate position with my exact availabilities (Nights & Weekends) and was wondering how I should proceed to follow up. I hear I should call but I don't know what to say. By the way, I have two great references of my old jobs, one of my district supervisor and one of the owner of a medium business I worked for. Any specific tips would be great like what to say in a follow up phone call. Thanks.

Ask for the hiring manager or the manager who conducted your interview (if you've had one). You should then say that your name is ______, you submitted an application for a Sales Associate position on _______ day, and "I'm really interested in the position and would like to know when I might be able to speak to you about my qualifications and how I can contribute to the Target team." This points out the fact that you have qualifications and that you're interested--two very important things for them to know. It also makes it harder for the person to turn you down because you're not asking IF you can have an interview, but WHEN. In essence, you're saying that you're qualified, interested, and that they'd be crazy not to at least talk to you. Try to do this in person, while dressed in business casual attire. This should set you apart from other candidates in a positive way. Good luck!

Target normally calls you back in about 3-4 business days. But, if your going to follow up - call the store that you sent the application to and ask for the manger or hiring manger. What you should say is your name (very important) and you are following up on an application you submitted on (whatever date) ....conversation should progress from there. Best of luck!

Drop by the place or ask for an interview. Be persistent so they know you are interested. Don't wait around for them to call, because they may not call.

yes, you HAVE to be persistent, that is the key to getting any job. I would say: Hi this is (name), I put in an application a few days ago I was wondering if a manager is available to speak to. and then just ask the manager if they have had any time to look over your application because your very interested in the job.
