Why is Thomas Cook rejecting my application, when I'm mainly qualified for the job?
Asked by ♥ =^.^= ♥ нєℓєη ♥ =^.^= ♥
I recently applied for an apprentice position at Thomas Cook. They got back to me and unfortunately for me they think I don't have the level of skills and experience for the job. Now on my application I've put that I am finishing studying a travel and tourism course at level 2 in college, plus to support this I am working at First Choice Holidays you know the travel agents. The most important thing that I wrote was the great customer service I have delivered to customers. Why did they reject me?

The simple answer is that you're too qualified. They're after an apprentice not somebody who will come into the office with their own ideas on tourism and service levels. I did the same with a Financial Advisers Position. I applied for a trainee position thinking that as I'd qualified, it would make their job easier, but I got a letter back saying something along the lines of, "Your Background and skills don't match our requirements". Life's a female dog sometimes right?
