To sum it all up: Work hard, 12 hours a day (or more) seven days a week. Always have a smile even when treated like dirt by rich snobs. You need to have the right look (not fat, under 30, clean cut, usually not a minority, no tattoos, no piercings, and be from the US, Canada or the UK) and be ready for a lot of discrimination in the world of yachting. You need to have STCW-95 Basic Safety Training, a $1000USD 5 day class. You need to be willing to work for 6-12 months with no time off. No drugs or booze on the job. Drunk/Druggie = Pay your way home (Guess how much a one-way ticket from Tahiti costs on short notice?). It's a job, not a vacation. Any more questions?
