what are the alternatives for pilots who are forced to quit their job due to medical reasons?

What are the chances of them getting a new job? What are the chances of them getting a new job? (since their education experiences are only limited to flying (FAA commercial pilot license) and maintenance (FAA airframe and powerplant).

You can always teach at a flight school or start your own. gc

Depends. Might have to go into the corporate sector of the airline in question...

None since your pilot's license is revoked by the FAA. If the medical condition is reversible you can then re qualify. Hopefully the pilot paid into the Disability Plan Offered by the company or union. This gives you a year coverage. Spouse flew Commercial airline for 36 years but alas health issues mandated leave prior to age 60 so used disability for the year then savings till pension started.
