Best Answer:
1) Have you worked in a place with seniors before? If so, what has your experience been with working with them?
2) Are you able to handle multiple tasks at once, and able to stay calm when the situations get very stressful?
3) Have you had to deal with emergencies before, and if so, please tell us of an example that you may have had to deal with?
4) What experience have you had as a housekeeper? What were your duties like where you had work?
5) If I were to ask your friend, or a co-worker, how would they describe you?
6) What are your plans for the next five years.
7) Scenario Questions -- these are common to determine how you will respond to things. A couple of examples may be:
You are working and you notice that there is a resident in one of the rooms that you're cleaning, is unresponsive in bed, and this resident you know is generally very sociable and talkative when you come in to clean their room. You know that something is terribly wrong, describe a list of steps that you would take to get this resident assistance.
You are working on a particular ward one day within the long term care facility and you're working away, and you notice that someone has slipped as a result of a spill that nobody told you about, so that you were not aware to clean it up. Describe the steps that you would take to make sure that this resident remains safe, and does not move.
You are working a particular shift at the home, and the fire bell rings. You do not smell any smoke, or know of anything that is wrong, but there are a lot of fearful residents and you notice that things are starting to get out of control. Part of your job is establishing order within the area that you're working. Describe what you would do.
I know that some of these don't relate personally to cleaning, but housekeeping also has a number of responsibilities like this, so I thought that I would put them on, so that you could get a heads up to some of the type of scenarios that they may ask you.
