What experience do I need to be a janitor/custodian in a school?
Asked by NoSoup4U
Im 24 and have worked minor maintanace at a camp and Im a housekeeper/nanny. What other experience or skills do I need to work as a janitor in a school and how do I obtain those skills? Ive been thinking about it for a long time and I really want that kind of job Jose I don't know if your being sarcastic or not, I am guessing you to be. I'm a high school graduate, college educated in Psychology as well as Social Welfare, if I wanted one of those jobs I would go work for Social Services....and they would hire me because I performed fantastically at my internships. I just happen to LIKE maintanance and perfer to do a job I enjoy.

First off,a H/S diploma is a must. Then dress neat and clean as this will be an indication as to how you will be doing your job as a janitor. Most of the rest is on the job training. You already have most of the experiences that will be needed from your job at the camp.

Dont aim too high, being a Janitor is a highly sought after position and their is fierce competition to attain that kind of job.
