I'm an electrical engineer and I just got hired a few weeks ago working for a power generation company in the Houston area. I have less experience than you. Many Texas companies are hiring EE's because in 10 years most of their employees will be retiring. In terms of life style, I heard that someone making 150k in Manhattan lives the same lifestyle as someone making 50k in Houston. The average EE salary for new graduates from Texas A&M is 60k.
Electrical engineer.
