How can I get started as a CNA?
Asked by TRB
I want to become a CNA and I have no clue how to begin. I dropped out of highschool but I am planning on getting my GED. Any tips on how I can get started would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has experience with this please tell me what it is like and some of the pros and cons. Thanks :)

Best Answer:
in every state you can get training through local nursing homes and they can not charge you for the classes if they hire you and they accept Medicare. not all nursing homes may offer the training but MANY can and do. each state has a website with the info you need, the site will be part of the department of health and human services site. you may also try this link for a list of all the states sites: http://allnurses.com/cna-nursing-assistant/complete-list-cna-171787.html for info about being a CNA such as: Nature of the Work Training, Other Qualifications, and Advancement Employment Job Outlook Earnings Related Occupations Sources of Additional Information http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos165.htm
