A pharmacy technician requires no schooling. Just walk into a pharmacy and ask to apply. Some pharmacies will prefer that you are certified, which involves passing a test, but 99% will provide on the job training. Retail pharmacy will pay at around $8.50 to $13 per hour. A hospital tech will earn more, but they usually require 2 years of experience.
A pharmacist requires a 6 year Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD). The pharmacists where I work earned $55/hr 2 years ago. It has probably increased since then.
I am a technician studying to be a pharmacist.
