Which certification is better to pursue between SCJP and Oracle DBA?

BTW,I am 32 yrs old with only a general B.Sc degree. ,working as a sales executive,but i want to change industry.And I am presently pursuing both MBA & MCA but confused as to which one to follow,since I have less time & more monetary constraints.Plz give me a well-advice.

Well in my opinion, u should go for Oracle DBA; there are many job opportunities in this field. After Oracle-Sun merger, Oracle certifications demand got higher...as far as initial salary would be near around Rs. 3 lacs.
As far as expenses concerned...if you go for institutes..They charged high fee for the preparation. So its better go for elearning websites. They provide authorized content with that experts comments and suggestions regards to problems n queries.. The main point fee is very reasonable as compare to institutions fee structure.
For starting, get some basic knowledge about Oracle database. Then go for OCA (oracle certified Associate) -->OCP (Professional) -->OCM (master)...

SCJP is entry level for java programming, do you like coding?
Oracle DBA is more for an admin role, do you like administering/maintaining dbs?
I think SCJP is cheaper to get, plenty of books and material online can get you prepared for the exam.
