How can I get a job as a Bridal Retail Sales Associate?
Asked by shunnyc
Every since I got married I have had this interest for being a bridal retail associate. I still look at different wedding dresses and designer even though my wedding is over. I look at Say Yes to the Dress on TLC and it looks challenging which I like. I have no retail experience and I am a graphic designer that freelances. I am a woman who need someone to look pass my graphic designer career and see me as a creative person who can sell a wedding dress. How can I convince the store manager that I have a passion for this and to give me a fresh start to learn as an apprentice and sell wedding gowns to blushing brides for a living? Also has anyone in Atlanta received an entry level Bridal Retail Sales Associate position?

Unfortunately, many of those sales associates have been in retail for quite a while. They have experience in retail, dealing with customers, perhaps customer service. I think that if you wanted to look into something like Kleinfeld (sp?) you would need to work up to the level. Perhaps you should try working at a local bridal botique. While there, you're able to gain experience, learn to handle customers who are "bridezilla-ish" and build up your resume to get to something like Kleinfeld.
So try David's Bridal, local botiques and stuff. You may not like it once you're on the floor working with customers
