Mr Average Joe
How do I farm blue fin tunas?
Asked by Mr Average Joe
I want to make money by raising blue fin tuna in a fish farm. Can it be done? I live in the midwest, so no ocean. Could I have a big salt water tank and have an artificial water flow? I figure I can make a lot of money raising sushi grade tuna and selling it to the Japanese.

As part of their life-spam, tuna migrate hundreds of miles. One place to eat certain foods, another place to spawn. Once you get all of that in one place, you are ready to open your business. Maybe you could buy cheap land in Wisconsin and turn it into a fish farm. You can buy some rural land for $500 an acre.

Blue fin tuna are very very large. A tank would need a considerable amount of space per tuna as they need to be able to swim around to maintain their body temperature. It would probably not be terribly cost effective.
